sororities that take in juniors?
by: ...I will be 20 years old but I will still have 3 years left at A&M (change of major). I have a sister that is in a sorority at OU but I don’t know know anyone in that sorority here at A&M though so is it okay for me to tell them I have a sister that is in Greek? I of course won’t be legacy to that house at OU or anything. Are any sororities open to juniors? Thanks!

The appropriate way to let your legacy chapter know that you’re rushing is to allow your rec writer and your sister alert the TAMU chapter that you’re rushing. You can & should absolutely mention your sister while you’re at that chapter and say how much she loves being an XYZ at OU.
At other chapters, tread carefully. They’ll often (rightly) assume that blood is thicker than a Rush crush and that you’ll want to follow into your sister’s letters. I think the best way to mention it is in the context of why you want to go Greek....”even though it’s a different campus, my sister is in a sorority and has loved the sisterhood, living in the house, her little sis, etc” and I’m looking forward to experiencing those same sorority traditions at TAMU. Be generic and not specific towards her sorority’s philanthropy or other unique aspects.

So it’s okay for me to tell the girls I have a sister in a different sorority during rush? Would that hurt my chances bc I don’t know anyone in her sorority here
