rushing/ recruitment as a senior?

by: old lady

What are the odds of getting in a sorority as a senior, whether that be through formal recruitment or spring? Which sororities are more likely to take upperclassmen?

Riddle me this--does a Senior really want to be pledge sisters with 18 year olds? A girl on starting her 4th year in college want to be hanging out with girls who were getting excited about prom ~3 months ago?

Very rare and the girl would already be friends with actives and they would've asked her to join several times over by now.\n\n\n\n\n

Solid point. Never thought of it that way.

Extremely rare. Especially if you’ve been on campus all four years.

Even though seniors are “free” and don’t take up a spot in the pledge class, I think most chapters would really question why you just now decided you want to be a sorority woman and how much you would be able to contribute. I think unless you’re an outstanding “pick up” for the chapter (4.0, high profile on-campus leadership positions, etc) they won’t be interested during fall formal rush and I don’t think anyone would interested in COB-ing a second semester senior.

I’m actually a transfer, so I was kind of thinking that would make a difference. I started at junior college and was there until my junior year and will be a senior for an extra year than most. Thanks for the input!
