legacies
by: pnmI'm going through recruitment this fall and was wondering how each of the houses handle legacies. I heard that one house is really big on legacies (any idea which house that is?) And are there any rules regarding when houses have to cut legacies??

It varies by chapter. Some chapters have enough legacies rushing to fill two pledge classes and others don’t have as many. Every national org has a different legacy policy though I believe at this point they all are required to put legacies invites to Pref on their top bid list.
Also, every sorority has a different list of what’s considered a legacy so make sure you actually are one. Some don’t recognize step-daughters/ step-sisters or granddaughters as legacies. Aunts and cousins aren’t legacy relationships.
If you’re a Legacy, your relative should know or be able to find out what their sorority’s legacy policy is, whether it’s a guarantee invite back after Open House or what.

Of course take everything I say with a grain of salt because I can only be 100% about my own sorority, but from what' I've noticed from observing recruitment:
All sororities have a guaranteed invite back for Round 2.
Most sororities have a rule that if a girl makes it to Pref with them, if she ranks that house 1st, then she is guaranteed a bid at her legacy. I don't think Tri Delt has this rule though, and neither does Theta (though the A&M chapter of Theta is not SUPER competitive as long as you are their type).
XO and a few others maybe must give "serious consideration" whatever that means to them, but not always guaranteed.
