fraternity rec letters?

When I signed up for frat rush it has a place where you can send letters of rec. how important are they? I don’t really have anybody in my family who’s been in one and I kind of thought letters of rec were just a sorority thing?

I don’t think it’s required for frats, it’s more to help I guess

Frats here don’t do letters of rec, but if you want to get them then feel free to look like a tryhard

How come frats don’t have to but sororities do? I find that so dumb and useless
