what’s the difference between rif & rec?

Recruitment information form and letter of recommendations? Once chapter told me they needed RIF and not the other one but they both, from what I’m reading online, sound exactly alike?? Thanks

Just do both. Trust me. You won’t get into chapters without those things.

Don't worry about it. The alumnae from each sorority who write your recs know exactly what their sororities require and will make sure to send in the appropriate forms.
