spring rush
by: GDII'm rushing in the spring and have a pretty good idea of which fraternities I'm going to be looking at. I just wanted to know if anyone had any input on which ones to avoid (whether that be because they're in trouble with the IFC or because their actives are weird). Seems like a lot of people bash Delt on here but all of the actives I know are pretty cool. Is that just people joking around or do they actually have a bad rep around campus? How hard is it to get a bid from the upper tier fraternities?

I’m in a “top” sorority and my bf is a delt. His roommates talk to girls/date girls who are also in various other top sororities. Stuff on here isn’t true .. girls aren’t turned off by certain people just because they’re in a certain fraternity unless it is suuuuper bad. If you’re in sigma chi or better you’ll still see people from top sororities at your events.

Delt doesn't really have a bad rep they just don't have a great one either. There's some troll who has a hard on for bashing Delt on this site idk why, but they're a decent mid tier frat that's actually pretty popular with girls. I also think that now that Sig Ep is gone Delt will get better and better (they hang out with a lot of the same girls/sororities but Sig Ep was the preferred "top tier" one for those social circles in the past. Now Delt won't have to compete and more girls will probably come around)
I would say aim for KA/Fiji/SAE (if any of these are your type. They all have a very specific type of guy and if you don't fit in you shouldn't join just to be top tier)
If you can't get in or don't feel like it's a good fit, then Delt is still a good option. Probably not hard to get a bid if you're a normal dude.
If for whatever reason you don't like Delt then Pike, Sigma Chi, and Beta are all decent fraternities. None of them are very exclusive so you should be able to get in if you're even half-normal.

Just to clarify (correct me if I'm wrong):
Fiji: Wealthy parents, majors that lead to higher paying jobs, recruit by zip code to some degree
KA: Fiji but more country
SAE: Laid back, more party heavy

Sigma Chi and Beta are a thousand times better than Delt.
If it's not a top house, then it's not worth it--time or money.
And these guys aren't even close.

Sigchi Delt Beta Pike are pretty much the same sized frats , but only different bc of the kind of guys in it . Meet the guys first and try to rush where you fit in best
