It's a thing but it's a small thing.
Panhellenic will reset Chapter Total this week and any chapter below that number is eligible for COB. It's probably 1-3 chapters this semester (just my guess). If you're interested, let the Greek Life office know & they will share your name with the eligible chapters. These chapters may or may not hold invitation-only informal COB events so pnms can meet the sisters.
There are usually more chapters with COB openings in the spring bedause of early graduates, transfers, etc. Most chapters will take 1-2 new members but it's typically VERY quiet and bids are extended directly to close friends of actives (not through COB events). Chapters with larger needs may hold invitation-only events.
