by: Non GreekWhy is Fiji so popular and highly ranked? From what I have seen, the girls (while in top sororities) only hang out with them because they went to high school with them and because most of them come from successful families. All the parties i've been to have not been fun (they just circle up with their friends), they have no strong philanthropy, their house/ranch is far out, a lot are nerdier types (mostly cool guys though),and their Chilifest is usually like their parties (not that fun). With that said they are strong academically and will be successful due to their families and connections. Just don't get the hype.

They're rich, they're not creepy and respectful to women, they're smart - which means they'll probably stay rich, and girls just use fraternities like SAE, Sigma Chi, Delt, etc. for their alcohol. Once the party's over and the alcohol runs out, all the decent sorority girls scatter. Sig Ep is the only party frat that girls want to actually hang out with sober. But they're in a weird situation this semester.

I'd say KA is also a party frat that girls actually want to hang out with sober as well. There's a reason Fiji, KA, and Sig Ep are top. And it's because of the guys. Literally Anyone can throw a party and provide free drinks to girls

I wouldn't really call KA a party frat though. They're more social than Fiji, but their membership is more selective. They won't bid a ton of Blinn guys on the DL so that they can collect more dues to throw parties, for example.
Also, come on, let's not pretend that wealth isn't a requirement for top tier for both guys AND girls at all schools across the country. Besides, Beta is also a 'wealthy" frat, but no one except for Chi O would consider them above KA, SAE or Sig Ep. At A&M, more than other schools, fraternity tier is determined by what sorority girls will hang out with them (sober, I guess). Smart, hot, rich girls want to hang out with smart, rich guys. That's how it's always been, and won't ever change.
