pledge class size?
by: happy2behereDoes anyone know the quota or pledge class size for 2016? Do all sororities have the same quota?? I'm hoping the numbers add up to or close to the huge amount of PNMs!! Thanks.

This is how quota works: it's basically the number of PNM's with an invitation to at least 1 house for pref divided by 12 (the number of houses on campus). So if 600 PNM's have pref invitations, quota is 50. Quota is the same for every house although quota additions can increase the pledge class size by a few.
The number of PNM's being released by each house every round is Panhellenic's recommended #. There is a complicated computer system behind it, but basically the number of girls each house releases is different but it all works together to ensure the maximum number of PNM's who finish the week get a bid.
This is a unique year with Phi Mu colonizing so PNM's are lucky that they have one more chance to go Greek should formal recruitment not work out. That said, all it takes is one house to get a bid so find things you love about each house that invites you back each round.

The number going through has no effect on cuts or quota. Quota is calculated as the number of PNMs attending at least one pref divided by the total sororities, plus or minus a few depending on not making quota or getting quota additions due to PNMs not being high enough on the bid lists of all the sororities they preffed as long as they ranked them all.
If 1000 PNMs go to at least one pref party, then quota is 1000 divided by 12
If 5000 PNMs go to at least one pref party, then quota is 5000 divided by 12.
