Relax- no one knows this bc it’s based on the number of PNMs still going thru recruitment.

This is a big cut though.

The release percentage numbers are not published or discussed, only the rush chairs and pan recruitment officers know the precise percentages. But the highest percentage of releases are from GG to Philo, next highest for House Tours, and then lowest release percentage for Pref. The percentages are different for each chapter and are given to them by Panhellenic, based on the past few years of recruitment data. Stronger recruiting chapters have to release a higher percentage at each round, which has nothing to do with 'ranks' that people talk about, they are based on actual data.

The reason the release percentages start high is to allow pnm's to know where they stand with a chapter as early as possible in the process. If there is little to no chance for a bid, it's not fair to carry those pnm's to the next round, and best for you to find out ASAP so you can focus on your remaining options.

You really wanting them does not impact how they rank you. You have to be ranked above their assigned cutoff number but they don't ever know your ranks of them so that's not a factor in their ranking of you. And the algorithm doesn't use your ranks of the sororities unless you would get more houses back for a round than you are allowed to attend. If that happens the algorithm looks at how you rank the sororities and drops your lowest ones. Otherwise, the sororities are doing the choosing, so if you like a sorority you need to TELL THEM.
