Wdym sororities have gpa requirements??

If you look at the SU Panhellenic site that has sorority requirements, some srats do list a higher minimum GPA - like 2.6, 2.7, 2.75 - for members. However- there are exceptions during recruitment and if you are at 2.5 it’s not an automatic drop from every srat.

The university requires a 2.5 for you to be allowed to rush in the first place. This has nothing to do with any individual sorority minimum GPA requirement to offer a bid, which might be higher. All chapters have their required GPA that is dictated by their nationals. They are all listed on the Panhellenic Council site under each individual sorority's information. GPA cuts are made first round.

Are GPA requirements hard and fast rules? Usually, but if you have something special to offer, or if your first semester was in challenging classes, you can be given some grace. No guarantees though. Lots of pnm's have something special to offer, lots of pnm's know chapter members who will pull for them.

DO NOT mention your bad GPA during rounds!!! DO NOT ask about GPA!!! Never focus internally on, or call attention to, insecurities, shortcomings or negatives. Only show your personality and confidence and the good things about you that you have to offer. If you are interested in a chapter then TELL THEM!!! They can't read your mind!!!

Each chapter has their own minimum GPA, most are above Panhel's but not by a ton. I can only speak for my chapter but yes, if you are below our minimum you are automatically cut, no exceptions. Even if you're amazing in every other way.
