Question about sororities
by: FuturesoonerI am coming from the Dallas area and a lot of girls end up OU from where I'm from. Alot of them go Kappa and Pi Phi and a few Chi-O. One of my friends is telling me that she wouldn't go Kappa because they are not a top house and people flame them now. She said they did horrible at the homecoming competition didn't even make U-sing and got a really bad pledge class and now they have all of this drama surrounding them. I just wanted to confirm if what she says is correct from people on campus and if I should focus my relationships on other houses for rush.

Theta hasn't been a top house at OU for 6+ years. My sister went to OU a few years ago and said they were dropping back then. My mom went to OU in the 80's and said Theta was a top house with the pretty rich girls. Not sure what has happened, but they are not a top house anymore. Could be that they focused on looks and rich rather than substance?

You’re better off joining a “mid” house like tri delt or theta rather than Kappa. Tri delts and thetas are still loved and great sisterhood on campus. Don’t join a chapter because it’s “top”. And if you’re going to, Pi Phi is the only top house that actually has classy members and a real sisterhood. Sorry had to say it.

wtf everyone thinks kappa is a top! kappa has pretty girls who get into every frat btw… kappa is a genuine sisterhood dont listen to bottoms trying to steal kappa girls!!

Kappa will probably never be a bottom house on this campus. If you’re gonna be a kappa, you practically know you’re going to be a kappa before rush even starts because of connections. Yes, they are not involved as much as other houses, yes they had the whole essay thing, but kappa won’t be a bottom house. The girls that kappa wants, they’ll most likely get 75+ percent of them and that’s just how kappa is.

Kappa, Chi O, & Pi Phi have been the top houses for generations, and they always will be. There’s a lot of drama surrounding the essay girl, Chi O has had to have multiple meetings this year with PC ‘25 about “mean girl issues”, and PiPhi has alleged fake SA allegations made by members. (I am in neither of these 3 houses for reference, but am in pan at ou) every house has their negatives. Go into rush with an open mind, you will find where you need to be.

Wouldn’t say chi o has been top for generations since they only recently started becoming a better chapter

I wouldn't say Theta is a top house but has sweet girls. I would say kappa was good prior to this years pledge class.
