why ou?

Just curious... I've never really understood why wealthy, private school kids(especially from Texas) with a great academic record would choose to go to OU over stronger, elite, private schools. I would have loved to go to an ivy or another private university but I didn't have the funds.

OU isn't exactly elite... sorry to destroy your image. It's a step up from community college but not exactly Stanford.

The op specified they were referring to wealthy kids with great academic records. Some wealthy kids do have them ya know.

At OU they are the rich kid... something special. At Vandy or wherever, they are just another rich kid.
