@wonder - With New Member Classes running at 125, it is self defense to add additional chapters. Same thing is happening at Arkansas and Alabama right now.

Yes....need to big on a new group as chapters are getting too big - competition is good won't hurt the other groups. Dz is also strong and present at most of the SEC schools. UK, UT, USC, UF, UGA, LSU, TEXAS A & M, Auburn & Alabama.

And....in terms of number of active chapters...the info listed is wrong...the groups have the largest number of active chapters in this order...DZ #1, APi#2, ADPI #3 and AGD #4. And, that is also why they have the most initiates.

is it true that Delta Gamma has their new members selected before recruitment even starts?

it is possible; however DG is by no means the only one that has members already selected. at some schools, many sororities already have selected members before rush.

A PNM is going to have a crappy recruitment if she only "sees herself" in 1 to 3 out of the 9 Chapters at Ole Miss. And really, Murphy's Law of Recruitment states that a PNM who says she "only sees herself" at the top chapters on campus (and is most fixated on those) is probably the least likely to get a bid from them. It's always the least prepared PNM who is the most fixated on getting "only the best." I see this a lot, with the fixation on say Old Row at Ole Miss.

You are so right. It's who you know and it always has been. Now at many schools, friendship can over-rule even a legacy !!! If you want to be Greek, keep an open mind and realize that you can be happy anywhere.
