Actually I'm pretty sure it is true. At least until after rush they can't have anything. I'm not 100% sure but I think I remember one of my Chi O friends telling me that.
If you're a PNM interested in Chi O and you're reading this, don't read into it too much. You have SO many events over your 4 years to go to and you will still be able to do fun stuff with your sisters. Also think of all the $$$ Chi O will save and get to put towards other stuff or even better events next semester. Don't base your decision off this.
Also I think they can still have swaps?? just no date parties? im not sure

it’s not for the whole semester, just until rush is over. has no effect whatsoever on PNMs.

...there are still PNMs that have their pick of the houses, even if Chi O has a pretty good idea of who their pledge class will be. PNMs will pref Chi O an DDD or Chi O and KD or whoever and pick whichever one they want and EVERY SINGLE YEAR there are a few girls that surprise everyone and pick the unexpected house. There is a bit of unknown. So yeah there are for sure some PNMs out there rn trying to decide what they want and they may or may not get to choose in the end.

You're delusional if you don't think that some PNMs get to pick. Have you not seen rush chairs crying on bid day? They aren't crying because they ranked a girl low and she got her second choice. They are crying because they ranked a girl high and yet she picked another house (and was high enough on their bid list too since that is also a factor). It is very, very few PNMs, but there are some. If you are one of them you probably know.
If you talked to Chi O, Tri Delt, or KD's rush chairs right now, they would no doubt be stressing about multiple girls that they really really want and have rushed really hard but they are scared they are gonna go something else. The sororities don't have ALL the control. Just most of it.

Ohhhhh, it's one of 'those' Moms. Probably shows up every year to run around trying to find rush chairs cry over girls they didn't get. Then they rush to post every dramatic detail on GreekRank. Our rush chair is too busy to be crying over anyone or anything, but this Mom will be there looking for tears. Living the Dream Mom!

obviously PNMs don't get to choose their houses, especially with variable quota, but the bid day video put out by Chi O last year spoke volumes.

Of course this should be important to PNMs. If XO is in some sort of trouble it speaks to who they are. And, if they get in trouble again the punishment will be more severe.
You can try to downplay since will be over when rush is over, but it doesn’t change how you got there.

Again Moms....... let Panhellenic and Actives handle the situations. They're doing a good job. The best thing you can do to help your sorority's recruitment is GET OFF GREEK RANK.

I am not a Chi O. Would have loved to be but joined another house and that worked out fine. I just hate this kind of petty crap that sorority world sometimes revels in. It's humiliating as a woman. For the record, I also hate that no one can comment positively on another chapter without being accused of self promotion. I'm not even trying to boost XO - just quash the rumor that this penalty should affect PNMs.
There is so much misinformation on this site, yet many PNMs seek info here because, let's be honest, there aren't exactly a lot of sources to turn to before rush and we make recruitment so opaque. The incoming girls want information so they feel less blindsided by a process that is often painful and confusing. My goal is just to be honest about what this penalty means. Thanks for reading. I wish everyone a happy recruitment and start of school.

This site is irrelevant. Nothing on this site affects recruitment. It provides incorrect information and creates Mama Drama. Chi-O can't 'bury' this story. Everyone already knows about it, it was dealt with, and life will go on. So just relax mama and be happy in knowing this entire situation does not affect you in any possible way.
