alpha phi uf
by: lol
So Alpha Phi is coming to UF next Fall and periodically posts about how hot Alpha Phi will be and how amazing they are on the west coast, and that they are top wherever they go...they already deleted a bunch of contrary posts, and recently posted about how at Ole Miss "every top tier sorority at OM agrees that they're up and coming. tbh they pick off looks mostly, so yeah, they'll get a few rep risks and grade risks when they colonize at uf, but they'll be hot and move up in fast. look at any of their other chapters." Who do you think writes this stuff, it is the same self ranking theme everywhere, their nationals? What have you all had to deal with...is it like dealing with fake news?

APhi is nationally known as the hottest chapter, at every school where looks define tiers APhi is top. Whether people agree with their tactics or not, we've seen that their nationals themselves have chosen girls based primarily on looks. This actually works quite well at a lot of campuses, outside the south even their brand new chapters rise to the top in no time just because they're shameless about only choose the prettiest.

It does seem kind of odd that the only attribute for membership to Alpha Phi seems to be "hotness" (according to the endless posts by what I am assuming are Alpha Phi members). That's certainly not what I was looking for in a Sorority, but each to her own. That being said I have met some nice Alpha Phi's and I try to just overlook the shallow comments from the ones obsessed with looks.

Just because you say over and over again that you're the hottest sorority and rising at Ole Miss doesn't make it true. instead of trying to convince everyone you're super hot why don't you get out there and support your philanthropy, sisterhood, and the rest of the Greek community??

To @OP: not lurking UF, since I am a gator! Was just curious if what APHI posted about Ole Miss was remotely true. After a quick look here, it looks like it is not...and that the comments are pretty much identical to what I've seen on UF's greekrank. Still makes me wonder if it is an APHI alum (since the posts are all the same) or if APHI's most similar quality across the board is this odd boasting about hotness.
To X: no worries, GPHI just colonized at UF and as any new sorority would/should, tried to get the most attractive girls they could (just as APHI will). They did the best they could and took a lot of risks. They did get a handful of pretty girls, but not near enough (even with all the others they had to take) to be at similar total as the other houses. They are currently last in grades and numbers, and have had several reputation-damaging incidents along the way. Can't see it playing out much differently with APHI. APHI may go for looks, but there's only a very small amount available after formal rush and almost all are risky...maybe 20 (being generous). UF chapters have upward of 250 sisters...the math is just not in APHI's favor for a 100% "HOT" 1st PC, especially with no house. I actually wish them well, but the bragging about how they will be top tier in no time is strange.

Just read the post OP was talking about on UF's greekrank. I know we can't trust everything we see on the internet, but it specifically said the poster was NOT an alpha phi at Ole Miss, but her friend was, so why don't we give APhi the benefit of the doubt and not accuse them of self ranking on ANOTHER school's uncolonized chapter. It might help to be a little bit positive towards them since everyone seems to be so intrigued by bashing them lately.

If you scroll back you can still see posts where Aphi alumni or students from other schools (or Aphi imposters) came on here, slamming Ole Miss, our sororities, our student body, etc. Before Aphi colonized. The same kind of talk - how hot they were, how they were top tier everywhere, how they were going to be top tier on campus right away, etc.
It pissed off a lot of people here. Alpha Phine was one name that comes to mind - allegedly involved in the colonization process and following the chapter. I suspect that ^ is the same person as Alpha Phine. The weird thing about it is that all they seem to succeed in doing is making people REALLY hate on Alpha Phi. So I don't get the point of the posts. Unless it's just a pure greekrank troll, and that's certainly possible too.
Colonizing at Ole Miss isn't the easiest process. It's not exactly a welcoming community. You'll hear a lot of talk about "leftovers" and "grade risks" and "rejects," etc. Which is just flat out stupid because colonization takes place after rush. The pool of girls includes those who didn't get a bid, so....yes. You will have grade risks and "leftovers" in the mix.
Aphi has a selection process based on looks. If that's the right strategy for them, so be it. I don't really care. My house does just fine using our membership selection process, how Alpha Phi recruits doesn't really affect me. And really, who cares? Just enjoy your sorority.
