so what's the big deal with sororities here??

I am from up north and surprisingly I had a handful of houses that invited me back every round, BUT what's the big deal with sororities here?

For some reason girls want to make being in a sorority as "look at me i am rich, i can afford to be in a sorority".

But where i'm from, the greek system is just looked at for werid/awkard people that can't make friends.

My roommate pretty much made me rush and told me the school is set up pretty much for greeks so it's go greek or be left out, but I don't know if I should be doing this.

Honestly all these recruitment videos look fake af and I had a senior in a sorority tell me to post something about her sorority on my instagram and i just kind of rolled my eyes at her (kind of felt being used) and my room mate who was with me literally cussed me out "omg why did you give her a dirty look?" "that's probably the top house and obviously they wanted you!" "wow, you are crazy"
