The point of college is to get an education. Not joining a sorority you don't feel comfortable in because a bunch of ladies who are incapable of making friends outside of their sorority bully you into making decisions your heart is telling you not to.

College life does not begin and end with joining a sorority.

Believe it or not, there are plenty of girls on campus living the college dream who do not pay thousands of dollars a year just to have friends.

It's not bullying. I think as upperclassmen many of us realize that the houses have much more in common than we thought when we were freshmen. We also know many girls before this year who didn't have the perfect rush they expected and ended up loving the house they ended up in, even some who got so involved that they are now on exec board.

I know there were a lot of hurt feelings this week and I just hope you really are ok not being Greek. It's not bullying, it's us not wanting girls to miss out on being in a sorority, especially the ones who had dreamed of it forever. Whether someone is a KD or a Kappa or a Theta, they're going to get a Big Sis, go to date parties and formals, participate in all the Greek events together, live in the house with your pledge class, get a Lil sis, etc. They're going to make best friends if they put the time and effort into doing so.

Getting into a top tier isn't the magic ticket to a perfect college career. There are girls in EVERY house who struggled to fit in before initiation and wondered if they made the wrong choice. Usually if they stick with it, they look back as seniors realizing they ended up in the perfect place and are glad they didn't quit.
