the sigma kappa drama
by: Conspiracy TheoristSo, ever since recruitment began SK has been a source of drama. From the weird alums lurking on the site (btw, you all are TOO OLD to be on GR if you're an alum of SK at IU), to the 'competition' with other unhoused, and now that apparently SK cut a ton of girls. My roommate was a rho gam, and 4 of her girls who sadly did not receive bids during formal recruitment were not invited back to pref night for SK. If you go on SK's facebook page, there are angry alum wondering why their daughters did not receive invitations to pref night. Does anyone else think that SK's off to a not-so-great start?

Totally agree with this. I had 2 girls on my floor who were pretty much shoe-ins (tall, skinny, blonde, the whole nine yards) AND were legacies for SK, but got cut this morning. They both said the personal interview they received was bland and unenthusiastic, but that's just hearsay. Good luck to girls who get a bid and I hope your experience is more pleasant!

I think people are way overrating Sigma Kappa. It's a colony. Colonies are never that good, even when they have the housing potential. Look at Purdue's brand new KD and fairly new AOII. They are having growing pains and still figuring out who they are. It takes time. The only reason they are getting this attention is because they said they were going to build a house, so some freshmen women that may have pledged an unhoused sorority instead took their chances with them and it didn't work for a lot of girls. Most quality women already pledged somewhere else.

But for the most part, isn't that who they took?
