sk closure
by: Curious#1 by: asked my mom
1. No RFM. Top chapters kept inviting back way too many women they weren't going to give bids to and those women were not able to match with mid or lower tier chapters. My Mom was a Rho Gam and half of her girls did not get bids after pref because they went to the same 4 or 5 chapters who over-invited. Tri Sigma, ASA , SK and AOII all closed with in a year or two of each other. Then ADPi struggled as AGD did. ADPi asked for help from national and they floated them a loan to keep them afloat. AGD only survived because their house does not sleep many and they were able to play the bills. Then about 10 years later the Greek System rebounded.
2. New house was a total lemon. Windows broke, closet doors broke, pipes burst, etc. They were over extended on the mortgage and at that time housing corps were not supervised by national. Their housing corp went broke, left national holding the bag for the bills. Sold house to Pi Kapps to recoup some of the money back. The money stuff was the main reason, had they not sold their old house (office of admissions) which was much smaller, they would have made it through the mid 90s like AGD and ADPi did.
