List the number of houses and unhoused sororities you were invited back to for 16 parties.

I was invited to 7 housed and all 3 unhoused.

No don't do this. Where you are going is no ones business except your own.

I didn't ask for names of sororities, just numbers.

Are you trying to make yourself feel better or others feel bad? This is sad that you feel the need to do this. Saturday, you could be cut completely even with 10 today. Keep it private.

I'm just curious! I didn't want to talk to other PNMs in person because it could be very awkward.

That's why you don't do it in person or anonymously. Don't compromise your recruitment.

When you focus on others recruitments instead of your own it's usually not a good indicator of success for you. You will probably lose half of today's houses next week.

I decided to withdraw today. I'm hoping for SK!

Out of genuine curiosity, why? I have nothing against SK and I'm excited for another sisterhood to be on campus, but you know literally nothing about who their members will be and there's absolutely no way to tell the personality of their future chapter.

Or maybe you're just a troll. Who knows.

You're not guaranteed a bid there either.

Seems very early to drop for an unknown sorority. You will have to compete with freshman/Sophs/juniors/seniors for those spots and more often than not those first couple of pledge classes are very random. Not bad but random. Look at DPhiE.

DPhiE is a joke nationally. They are expanding too quickly and forgetting about the newer chapters. There is no way their national will be able to afford a house for them ever. ASA is a much stronger national than DPhiE or TPA. ASA is doing really well, not so random in just 4 years. SK has been all over campus and done a lot of PR, they will attract better quality PNMs than DPhiE did. They should get off to a good start like ASA did.

Sigma Kappa was chartered at IU from 1918 to 1994, so they still have a strong alumnae base even though they left campus over 20 years ago.

Dphie has strong and weak chapters, just like every sorrority. How do you know they will never buy a house? Their new chapter at uga bought a house, they're building one at Georgia southern and their fairly new Syracuse chapter has one of the nicest houses on campus. I live in Florida and have friends in dphie but have never even heard of Asa until now (no offense to them)

Honestly, I am in a house that's been here a long time and our alumnae don't do very much except collect checks. The ones that do help out the most graduated in the last 10 years. I don't know that an elderly alumna base is going to be that helpful.

SK has an active alumnae chapter in Bloomington. They have raised almost $20,000 in just a few months time to set up scholarship fund to be awarded starting next school year, they obviously do more than collect checks. Sounds like like they write them pretty well. A relative of mine is actively involved with the alumnare chapter and I see her facebook posts all the time! These women have waited 20 years to get their chapter back, you better believe they are going to support the hell out of that chapter.

DPhiE got a house at UGA because one of the frats was selling theirs to build a new one. They got a good deal and they had been on campus before and sold a house. They had $$ in the bank. The house is smaller than the other sorority houses and will need some major renovations after Phi Psi moves out, but it will be a cute house when it's all done. UGA situation totally different than IU situation.

I'm a founding member at another university that is not IU and our nationals has given us so much support so I don't know what you're talking about. Yes, DPhiE is expanding but what sorority wouldn't want to expand? DPhiE gets criticized for being too small but then we open new chapters at Syracuse, UGA, Penn State, etc and then get criticized for it. Unless you're a DPhiE, you probably don't know anything about how much support the new colonies are getting.

And yes, there are discussions for our chapter to build or buy a house in the near future and we have plenty of money to do so. I also don't know why you have to make snide remarks about UGA's house. It might be a bit smaller than other houses and need some renovations but it's not like there are a ton of historic mansions for sale on Milledge either.

What is stopping the unhoused chapters at IU from building a house? Not enough land?

As a new memeber of SK, if you get in, you get to set the tone and personality. The founding class create the founding tone

Higher tier cut more early. Lower tier make cuts later in the process.

RFM determines how many women a house has to cut. Chapters who had high return rates last year (which means that a high % of the women they invited back ranked them high enough to go back) have to cut more. For example, a chapter with excellent return rates last year may have had to cut 700 women today, while a chapter with average return rates may have only had to cut 400. It varies. Tiers are not indicative of return rates either. There are middle tier houses with excellent return rates. There is one upper tier house that had average return rates last year in the later rounds. One of the unhoused chapters had an above average return rate. So yet, some houses will be making smaller cuts now, while others will have to make larger cuts after this round.
