After formal recruitment. Sigma Kappa IU has a website, so find a point of contact there, or e-mail someone on the PHA exec council.

IU has no business letting another sorority come to campus until the real problem - "bed rush" is eliminated for total quota. Sigma Kappa's national should not want to get involved in this nonsense.

"Bed rush" means the housed sororities only take as many girls as well fit in the house. example if Chi Omega has 50 seniors graduating, they will take around a 50 girl pledge class

Compared to every other college in America - which takes the number of girls that fill out cards after preference round then divide it by the number of sororities and they give out that many bids. If IU followed that, each house would have a quota of 70-80, rather than 50 and more women would get to be a part of Greek life. Instead many IU chapters require their sisters to live in for 3 years (most other large campuses it's a live in requirement of 1-2 years). They can take more women and women aren't forced to live in the house for 3 years, which in my house - most don't want to live in a dry house our senior year. We like to think it makes us more competitive and selective but in reality - it makes connections and who you know SO much important. Not that you can't get in without knowing people, you definitely can - but it'c much more difficult - especially if you are not out at the Frats partying very much 1st semester. I'll be honest, I got into my middle tier chapter because my cousin was a member and she helped pull me in.
