legacy status?

Tri Delt and AXD have strong legacy policies but most everyone else will drop you after the first invitational. I'd still let them know though because you will be invited to a legacy event at the end of the semester before recruitment, so it does give you some extra time to get to know them. I was cut by both of my legacies but still found my home.

Our quotas are so ridiculously small, that if we took all our legacies, we'd have very little room for non-legacies. So the argument is legacies vs. best PNMs for the house, No one cares about legacies until their sister or daughters need a bid. Truth.

I definitely would not say A LOT of chapters. I know girls who were dropped after first invite by Zeta, Chi-O and Pi Phi. The biggest national chapters for the most part don't make it hard for their chapters to drop legacies. They make it sound like a big deal and maybe on a smaller, less competitive campus it is, but at IU, legacy is basically an invitation to first invite and that's it.
