Kappa Legacy/should I try other houses

My mom was a Kappa so I think I’m going to join them. But before I do, does anyone think I should try other houses too? I’m from out of state so I don’t know too many people so I think it would be easiest if I just went Kappa. Also what does “touse” mean? Is that good or bad?
