I came on here to see how people were reflecting on their rush experience, and now I'm genuinely upset by what this atmosphere has turned into. I know a lot of this garbage is from frat guys, but not all of it.
Sometimes, I look at our sorority composites and I think of times passed where our dreams and values were commonplace. I think about how beautiful it would have been, how magical it must have felt to live amidst them. I think of the people who were blessed enough to experience this. I think about the stories they could've told me. I think about what my life would have looked like if I had been born at that time.
I look around nowadays and it fills me with not only anger, but an overwhelming sense of yearning. The state of this university's Greek culture both repulses and saddens me. My heart aches for the times we have missed, as well as the people who lived through them. Their quiet joys, and their unspoken wisdom. I know that culture ebbs and flows here just as much as it does anywhere else, and I know this website is mainly just for trolls, but a restored sense of dignity would be nice.
