are beta, Fiji, Sig Ep, etc smart or is it fake?

I have a hard time believing that these frats with high gpa averages are ethically achieving that avg. like sure guys in beta, Fiji, and other upper / mid tier frats are in Kelley worshops, but I have had convos with guys from these houses outside or had group projects with them, and I don’t understand where the smart stereotype comes from. Do they just help each other out and give each other answer keys I’m assuming...???
