Is fraternity rush this competitive?

It seems like more than half the guys I know didn’t even get an invite back to any of the private events? Was this semester just super competitive and overall small pc classes or is this the normal?

fraternity rush is always competitive. almost entirely based off connections

It is entirely based on connections. If you don’t have them then you’re crazy lucky to get a bid anywhere above lower mid at best. It’s like this every year

This year it's worse than others. I feel really bad for you freshman because you don't get the real experience. During rush we can't read your body language, or get a feel for how you act around girls. That's why during zoom rush you either have to absolutely kill it, or somebody in the house already knows what you are like.

I know maybe 3 people who have gotten bids/asked back. I'd be surprised if it was always this bad
