Every house will make cuts based on GPA at some point but if you get to sisterhood round with a house that you don’t have their requirement they’re probably not going to drop you strictly for GPA after that point but they may still cut you in comparison to another pnm they like the same amount but does have their GPA req. Some houses will invite you back to philanthropy if you don’t have their requirement but getting to sisterhood is when you know they’re taking you seriously
If you’re a freshman w a 3.0 or higher you really don’t need to worry about being cut strictly for GPA by any house.
With a 2.9 the higher GPA houses will probably cut you unless they think you’re extraordinary in some other way. You will be cut from some houses with this GPA but I wouldn’t worry too much about it.
With a 2.8 you may face pretty harsh cuts but there are still about 10 houses that will take you with this GPA
If you have anything below a 2.8 the only houses that are likely to invite you back are SDT DPhiE SK TPA and ASA and that’s if you’re lucky. If you have an appeal you’ll be in one of those houses unless you’re super lucky or super connected

Nowhere did I say it’s a bad thing to be in one of those houses I meant it’s not super fun to rank 16 houses and only get back 4 no matter which 4 it is. Like I said you’ll be lucky to get back any houses at all with an appeal

It’s not a bad thing to be in any house. It is a bad thing to be paraded around to 22 houses thinking you have a chance at all of them when only about 5 will consider you.
Knowing now is better than finding out in two days when all your friends have 9+ houses and you have 4. Getting huge cuts from houses isn’t a fun or good thing and I’m pretty sure we all know that.
As a freshman if I only got 4 houses back even if they were the top 4 I would’ve been extremely upset and confused as to why soooooo many houses would’ve dropped me after only one round. They should know what’s about to happen and prepare for it instead of feeling like the odd man out and being so upset they drop instead of going to their philanthropy rounds.

If there are PNM’s looking at this thread I’m gonna let you know right now that You have every right to be disappointed when you get cut from certain houses. With that being said if you come into a round at whatever chapter, with a bad attitude throwing a pity party and expect the women in that chapter to be your cheerleaders and hype you up. You will not be getting invited back to those houses. We’re excited to meet you but we will not be The ones trying to make you feel better when we invited you back to our chapter.

Remember this may be the BARE minimum they will take (if you are over the top in other areas). But, most houses will cut by grades because there are so many women in the "middle" that they like equally. This is the tie breaker. If you get cut and have under a 3.0 don't take it personally. Get your grades up and come back next year.
