Why is Sig ep on cease and desist?

The details in the article were kind of vague so curious if anyone knows anything about why they got put on C&D

Regardless they broke the rules. They knew what IU expected and they didn’t follow it. They knew they would get in trouble

The rules are absurd and arbitrary. This is the problem with IU, not just during the pandemic but in their whole attitude towards Greek life. The rules this morning might be different than the rules this evening. The punishment for the same violation could be radically different for different chapters depending on how well liked they are and how much their alumni give. Heck, chapters have even been suspended for violating rules are not written down anywhere.

20 people is a big deal, especially when you’re constrained on social gatherings. SigEp knew there would be consequences for breaking the rules, but they chose to thumb their noses up at the health guidelines & now look at where they are.
