A History Lesson - Core 4 and Big 6

by: IU Dog

Core 4 and Big 6 were old terms used at IU way back when for very popular houses. It was written by people not in Greek life. They are not still used today because some of those houses are gone.
If you use them you’ll sound dumb.

Core 4 eventually changed to “Third Street Elite” because there was Aphi, Pi Phi, KKG, and Tri Delt on that street (with Fiji, ATO, and AKAK towards the end of the street. Lambda and DU were also there, but just weren’t as popular.

As you can see, ATO and Tri Delt are no longer there, FIJI built a new house next to Theta, and Lambda is not as present/gone. So there are no Core 4 or Big 6 at IU.

You are better off referring to them by the tier system, if that’s what you want to do, but to be honest it’s all artificial anyway so I wouldn’t let it be terminology you keep.

Fun fact: After Tri Delt was kicked, Chi O became the next top house, until their membership review happened.
