Why does Greeklife frown upon Outside relationships?

Why does Greeklife frown upon Outside relationships such as being friends with kids from other houses or friend with kids not in a house. I can never bring my friends to my house without my sisters giving them dirty looks. Why does it have to be so judgemental?
