iu owning greek land?

by: True

I've always heard that IU "owns the land" that greek houses sit on and therefore have the ability to dictate terms. I do not think it is logical that this could be true, but does anyone have a clear answer?

They do not. Houses are all independently owned either by housing corps or investors. Bloomington ordinance trying to restrict Greek housing was found unconstitutional — now on appeal. Frexit is coming

Meant to like not dislike, this is true. My chapter owns the land as well as the house. I’m on the extension though - not sure about 3rd street or others closer to campus
