what is the kelley applause?

by: not a kelley student

I was walking through the Kelley grad building the other day and saw a statue with a plaque called the Kelley Applause. It said at the end of every class, students applause the instructor and themselves lol. Is this really a thing?? I've never heard of this

It’s only been a thing for me in one class. It’s because a Kelley professor that died would always have his students clap at the end of class to celebrate “the learning process”. So now a few professors carry on that tradition in memory of the late professor
