who’s doing informal this spring?
by: InformalOther than ASA, Dphie and ChiO. Is anyone else rumored to be doing it? I’ve heard that many chapters made too many cuts early on and may not have enough to fill a pledge class. I heard gphi only had 3 parties of 30 girls during sisterhood, and many of the girls said they’d pick other chapters over them. And DZ made harsh cuts as well during 22 to 16 and 16 to 9. Is it possible for any of these chapters or others that made harsh cuts to do informal?

I totally believe a bunch of Rho Gams were directly telling PNMs about a chapter’s return rates outside said chapter’s house. Rho Gams don’t get to know return rates for chapters. Ffs, most actives outside a chapter’s recruitment committee, President, and advisor don’t know their own chapter’s numbers.

Correction: there is a difference between doing informal and giving out COBs. informal is not invitation only, and COBs are only giving to one or two girls by recommendation of girls already initiated in the houses. Phi Mu, Zeta, and APhi gave COBs but weren’t registered for informal.

Alk three had informal. It was common knowledge. You just happen to be friends with all 3 houses? Check Pi phi retention rate last year to see it is true. This is just showing how these houses are on the attack and trying to smear other houses

Basically same thing. Bulk of the houses did COB, snaps, informal or whatever to fill in a few spots. Point is it was a different year and unlikely to happen again.

Yes those chapters are doing informal so they can a) fill their house or b) meet the Panhellenic quota for bids. With the quota this year a lot of chapters will no longer need to do informal, but some chapters like to extend bids to girls who dropped and would like to give Greek life another chance. For example, I know TPA hit quota but they do not have a limit on how many girls they can take since they have unlimited housing so they can (and most likely will) do informal! A lot of girls in my chapter now dropped from formal and then immediately did informal and now they are very key members of our chapter and no one even knows who came in formal vs informal

AGD and SK did informal and did not do it under the table. They invited women out for coffee or ice cream, or to the chapter house for something. They were up front about it and both took some really good girls during informal. They didn't rely on friends of friends.
XO could not do informal last year, they were on C&D.

Last year, aka 2019, Chi O did fall informal. I saw it on Panhell's site, along with all of the chapter's i listed above.
SK and DG I knew of because of friends in those houses. DG was like 1-2 people so it wasn't a lot.
Like I said, I didn't know anyone else but now know that AGD was also part of it!
Just trying to help out those who dropped and are re-considering it.

We are not talking about FALL informal. We are talking about informal NOW. You're mixing apples and oranges.
