best activities for fun social girls not in sorority?
by: Seeking sistersUnfortunately, I didn’t make grades. So I missed out this year as a freshman. I’m super social and have tons of friends still in the thick of recruitment. I want to rush as a sophomore, and hope I find my home then. In the meantime, what are the very best things for me to involved with on campus to find a great social group, and to improve my chances at a bid next year? Obviously, focusing on grades is number one.... but I want to connect with other fun, smart, social girls and make some new friendships. There are soooo many clubs and organizations... which do you recommend.

Continue the friendships with your friends who rushed and hopefully you'll get to know some of their sisters once they pledge. Not only can this help with recruitment next year, but you don't want to lose the friendships you've built. IUDM is a great way to get involved and meet lots of women both in and out of the Greek system. Student government and clubs are also ways to get out there and meet people. As to which clubs - it depends on what you like and enjoy. There's literally a club for almost anything! I rushed as a sophomore because I didn't make grades my freshman year. I ended up getting a lower mid tier sorority my sophomore year and love my chapter. Great friends, great sisterhood and lots of fun! Don't be swayed by tier crap! Good luck!

I joined IUSF (the student foundation) and I really like it. IUSF pretty much puts on Little 500 so it’s a great way to get involved with an event that is predominately Greek. The time commitment is pretty low and lots of IUSF members are in Greek organizations and they have a few social events every semester just to have fun and get to know everyone.

How do I learn about informal opportunities? I looked online at IU Panhellenic— nothing there...
