AOII is also prestigious nationally. In the South, it is much better to be an AOII than a Theta!

AOPi does have a lot of chapters on smaller campuses but also they're on almost every large state school campus too. Good balance imo

Every chapter of every sorority at every school is different. There is no universally top sorority in any region or overall. AOII may be higher than Theta at ole miss, but Theta is higher at UGA and TCU, and they’re even at Alabama. Unless you plan on staying in the same place you went to college forever and that place was the same place you grew up, the “national reputation” of your sorority means very little.

Did you ask strangers their opinion on where you should attend college? Have you cleared your intended major with random people on the internet? Will you take an Internet poll on which job offer to accept when you graduate! Pull up your big girl panties and make your own decision.

Theta is a much older, larger national than AOPi. Theta is at many Ivy League and prestigious schools while AOPi is at many smaller regional schools. For name and national prestige—Theta. For purely IU social life—AOPi.
Oh—and Theta’s house is VERY NICELY located in the middle of campus; AOPi is far out on Jordan.
