Literally a perfectly balanced house from what I’ve heard

On social probation until March from nationals not IU.

If a social life is important to you, then Theta is not the house for you. Nice girls, partying is not their thing, not a priority at all.

Haven't had a pair all semester.

Haven't paired because of their probation from nationals, which they're off of in March, not because they just choose not to. Tons of amazing girls in the house who are super-involved on campus, though, so you shouldn't let that deter you. Honestly, if IU would get away from the pairing nonsense and do it more like other campuses do, it would solve a lot of issues in the Greek system.

Gem right there. Pairing is ridiculous.

Other campuses do the pairings automatically in a rotation or like Mizzou does it randomly. I 100% agree, nix the pairing and things will calm down. Focus on what matters.

On most other campuses, pairs for all-campus activities and events are in a set, random rotation by either IFC/Panel and/or the Student Government Association. So, for an event like Homecoming or Little 5, each chapter would be paired by a rotating list from the student leadership organizations. Sometimes, three housing units might even be paired if one was smaller. On some campuses, the dorms or commuters are even paired with GLOs for these events. Student Govt starts it with a rotating list, and everyone knows the rotation. It switches from event to event, so eventually over the years, everyone gets paired with everyone else for big campus events. You work with your assigned pair for joint spirit activities (or whatever) related to the event, and that's who you have your social event(s) with related to the all-campus festivities. On some campuses, GLOs can - and do - create their own pairs for random parties, but for the big campus events, the pairs are assigned. It helps stop this ridiculous tier rating stuff and helps the Greek community as a whole to get stronger by forcing everyone to hang out with groups they might not normally hang out with and get to know them. People start to realize they're more alike than different.

If enough of you started insisting that Panhel and IFC initiate a conversation about random pairing (maybe SGA, too), you could effect change on IUs campus.

At a lot of schools there are no pairings at all. Each house does their own thing for campus events like homecoming and Greek week. Social events are at the discretion of the individual fraternities and sororities. Date nights, swaps, socials, formals, etc. They are not tied to campus events. Each individual fraternity and sorority stands on their own. Also, at most schools the sororities do not limit their membership numbers like they do here, with a much higher placement rate of pnm's. Sororities have larger membership numbers and make sure that all of them have the ability to get a house. Much more equitable to all, a lot more fun, and much stronger Greek system. IU has the weirdest Greek system in the country.
