getting list back
by: !I was really disappointed this morning when I didnt get back most of my top houses that i really enjoyed. I got back all the ones that I dropped, and a few I kind of liked. Im feeling hopeless in finding a fit for me and am not sure what to do.

Everyone that goes through rush feels this way at some point. As a sophomore in a house now, I can tell you I felt this way at points during rush too. Give all the houses that asked you back a chance, a lot of them will surprise you during later rounds! There are 150+ people in a sorority and you only had a chance to talk to a couple of people. It is very hard to make an accurate judgment of a house after 22 party alone

Also, those chapters who let you go believe that you would be a better fit elsewhere. They really did you a favor by letting you go to other chapters with an open mind. I am sure you have some great chapters left and once you spend some more time there you feel more confident.

The girls on my floor got between 5 and 16 chapters back for 16 party. Only one had 16 and only one had 4. The rest were in the 8-13 range. Can anyone give me an idea of the ranges or numbers of the girls they know? Just trying to see the stats, don't want names of chapters or anything like that.

Wait till you get the next list! I can guarantee the next list will be even more of a SHOCK! If you are lucky to get even any houses you like.
Please do not think of dropping! Even if you are unhappy with the houses, keep going give them a chance. This round maybe your only time to become Greek at IU.

Agree, round 2 cuts are harsh for a lot of girls, especially those who had fuller list for this round. Don’t be surprised when you don’t have full list and a lot of your favorites are gone. Focus on what you have, not what you lost.

Yes, this is in the average range. For those that do get 16 back, it is almost unheard of that they are their top 16. Almost everyone gets back chapters that they THINK they "cut". Realize that you are not "cutting" anyone. Instead think of it as which chapters you would PREFER to go back to and it won't sting as much.
