2019 spring recruitment
by: HOOSIERDoes anybody have a count on how many women have signed up for rush? Or are they still able to register?
#1 by: don't worry
Registration has ended. Registration numbers don't mean much because they don't take into account the number of women ineligible for grades, the ones who register and then decide not to come back early, etc. The number that is relevant for now is the number of women who actually attend round one.
#2 by: not really
So many variables each year: GPAs, number of legacies and sisters currently in a chapter, number of girls with connections, girls who will drop after the first round when XYZ drops them, etc. There is no real comparison you can make. Just relax and get ready for recruitment. :)

I believe the last two years its been around 1,800 that register. I've heard it might be slightly more this year. However, of the starting numbers some will not begin the process, either they decide not to or their GPA prevents them from moving forward.
After round 2 you will probably start to see girls drop when the top tier houses cut them and they can't seem themselves as anything but a top tier.
By the time you get to pref round you probably have around 1,300 or so still in the mix. Some of those girls will suicide to only 1 and not get a bid but most of those that see the process to the end should find homes.
For some of you, round 1 will be harsh, despite what you read most girls will only have 6-9 invites back for round 2. For those with more, reality will hit them after round 2 when the real harsh cuts come.
Just remember, this is your time to shine. Your parents aren't hear to help you and they can't fix something like they may have in High School. Most girls underestimate the power of a good conversation. If you haven't already, practice what you want to say, don't just give one word answers or I don't no's.
Just know that rush is an emotional roller coaster and know that the majority of you will have a lot of ups and downs over the next few weeks.
Good Luck.

Yes, that’s true. But now I’d like to know just to be able to compare that number to past years. That will give us some idea, regardless of grade issues.
