this is obviously a girl. but no connections dont mean much. it depends who you talk to in the chapter. that's who ranks you. just go in with an open mind and have fun

I heard for Pi Phi the only people who get bids are the girls who know someone and the only shot you have if you don't know someone is if you are really outgoing/instagram model type or east coast/west coat

I think that there are some pre-existing connections in place such as high schools, family, neighborhood, etc. But there are so many variables such as making grades, girls who think they want a certain house but then makes a stronger connection with another chapter during recruitment, etc. Chapters may also no be aware of legacy status until right before recruitment and in some cases that does play a role. I think going into recruitment PMNs have a more rigid idea of who they want than the chapters do. The chapters may know of 5 or so women they'd like to have in the PC, but other than that, I think it's just how recruitment plays out.
