Theta Chi and Phi Kappa Theta are eligible to come back. Maybe IFC finally recognizes Lambda?

Lambda and Sigma Alpha Mu (aka "Sammy") were the only casualties of Operation Sudden Fall that have remained dormant ever since. Sigma Pi was kicked off around that time for unrelated reasons.

Just looked this up, none of those fraternities were kicked off cuz of that, only theta chi was.
It was Lambda kicked for hazing after a blindfolded drunk pledge fell off a second floor balcony at their stack, Sigma Pi for alcohol, fighting & probation violations & Sammy had a couple members living in their stack arrested at different times for selling weed but in 2009

You happen to know why KA was kicked off around that time?

It might not have been the "last straw" for Lambda and Sammy but it was definitely a factor.

6 inactive former fraternities are not currently under a minimum suspension period.

Phi Sigma Kappa - last active in 1959
Alpha Tau Omega - last active in 1994
Sigma Pi - suspended 2008 to at least 2010
Sigma Alpha Mu - suspended 2009 to at least 2013
Theta Chi - suspended 2019 to at least 2023
Phi Kappa Theta - suspended 2017 to at least 2024

The other 6 are all suspended until at least 2029-
Sig Ep, SAE, Fiji, Pike, Phi Psi, Kappa Sig

Alpha Sig this year was the first expansion in 30 years of a fraternity that never previously existed at sdsu, that could also happen again.

Looks like Zeta Psi and Pi Kappa Phi (Pi Kap) are expanding to SDSU in the fall. Two things I find interesting:

1. Neither has ever existed at SDSU before. So that's two years in a row they go with completely new organizations rather than ones that got suspended years ago
2. They are allowing two new fraternities to colonize in the same year. They typically only allow one.

Wow ok, looked this up & also two other national fraternities that have never existed here also list SDSU as slated for future expansion chapters on their websites. Alpha Kappa Lambda (AKL) shows SDSU as a spring 2030 “upcoming campus expansion” and Phi Kappa Sigma (Skullhouse) shows SDSU under “Current and Future Expansion”

Pretty sure Skullhouse was operating without university approval like 10-15 years ago? And speaking of, any word on the university formally recognizing Lambda?

Delta Kappa Epsilon (DKE) also lists SDSU as one of "seven schools for expansion in the near future"

My guess is that's from their side. If the university was on-board with that we'd know.

Ya the university doesn’t announce expansions more than a semester in advance, if even that. Other than zeta psi & pi kapp those other three have only been indicated by the national fraternities themselves.
My guess is they applied for ifc expansion & got approvals to set up in future years possibly still tbd

Sigma Alpha Mu (Sammy) is re-establishing their Gamma Nu chapter here, per recent update on their national hq website. Assume Spring 2027

Interesting. Has the university signed off on this already?
