Cal State East Bay sits in the hills above the East Bay, pulling from a student body that's commuter-heavy, diverse, and generally more career-focused than your typical residential campus. That context shapes everything about how Greek life works here. It's a smaller, more tight-knit community rather than the kind of system that dominates campus social life the way it might at a large state flagship.

The chapters here span several councils. You've got IFC fraternities like Delta Chi and Tau Kappa Epsilon on the men's side, along with NPHC organizations including Iota Phi Theta, Kappa Alpha Psi, Alpha Kappa Alpha, Delta Sigma Theta, Sigma Gamma Rho, and Zeta Phi Beta. The MGC presence includes Lambda Theta Phi, Lambda Theta Alpha, and Gamma Zeta Alpha, which reflects the school's heavily Latino and multicultural student population. On the Panhellenic side, Alpha Phi and Sigma Sigma Sigma both have chapters here as well.

Because CSUEB doesn't have a traditional residential Greek row, chapters don't operate out of chapter houses the way you'd see at UC Berkeley or big SEC schools.
