Fall Isn't Happening! Seriously.

by: AdminAzzt

I work for the University and we just received notice that the University is going to move all of instruction for Fall Semester to online. The new University President will be officially in office soon but word isn't going to be out about online instruction until he's officially sworn in to the position.

My office has already informed us the he university has already made the decision but to stand behind the new President they are holding off on announcing.

Isn’t it a little early to already come out and say fall is cancelled too?!! That’s MONTHS away

The thing is, UCF is the nation's largest university. The possibility of an outbreak is huge and August is still very soon in the timeline.

The legal team does not want to deal with putting thousands of students getting sick and having complaints issued against the University.

It's true. You won't hear it just from me. People are downvoting because they do not want to hear the reality of the situation.

The University cannot go back to having tens of thousands of students congregating around campuses. Fitting hundreds of students in lecture halls. Large sports will not be gathering because it's too dangerous to have that many people close together.

The University is preparing to shift the way we hold class. Departments have all been getting notices that they need to prepare for alternative instruction. I know it's not what people want to hear, but I feel they have the right to know. You can disagree all you want, I'm here to give information. Once this is announced you can come back here and see I was right.

This might be true.... I just saw a news article that said some and I will emphasize SOME Universities are thinking about going remote until 2021, UCF wasn’t on the list but this could be a possibility. I just hope it’s not.

Obviously you half half a brain cell left bc that plan is terrible. We‘ll just end up having a second wave of it and then fall will definitely be online

Original poster here. We are still planning on fall remote instruction, we just weren't on that list because we haven't publicly announced it yet. I'm still here waiting for the announcement for who knows when, but I can't wait to tell everyone I was right
