rushing from outside a feeder school, no connections
by: 200014girlieHi I plan on rushing at UT this fall, but I don't know anyone in sororities, and my school isn't considered one of those feeder schools. There are some girls from my school who rush, but most of them end up , adpi, kd, zta, and a few end up chio. My grades are pretty good, and my gpa is above average, my sat and extra curricularrs are also good. On top of this I have community service.

What's your question? If those girls from your school are in sororities at other schools then it means nothing except they could write a rec for you.
You don't need connections to get a bid at UT. Just be prepared for rush and do your best and you can get a bid. All houses are great here. But remember, ALL pnm's have good grades and extracurriculars and community service. It's hard to stand out in recruitment but don't get discouraged.

You sound like someone who is status hungry. Don’t rush at UT. Every house has great people, if you get the opportunity to be in one, you’re very fortunate. The houses pick you too, you sound like someone with opposing values of most of the sororities. Don’t rush.
