Sigma Delta Tau - ΣΔΤ Sorority at University of Texas at Austin - UT 1.8 there's no getting around the fact that the pledge quotas of the other 13 chapters with houses are reduced by 5-6 girls EACH because SDT raises the divisor into total PNMs attending Pref Night from 13 to 14 -- which is how the quota is derived. Subtract the # of girls who accept an SDT bid -- 10, 20? That means that 45-70 girls EACH YEAR get skunked -- possibly forever -- just because of math due to SDT's participation in formal recruitment. UT's Greek system has always been focused on Houses; it's not fair to compare the situation to schools in other areas where none or less than half of the chapters have houses. I bet SDT would have a MUCH better image and relations with their fellow Greeks if they devoted their energy to COB. Panhellenic needs to quit singing Kum-Ba-Ya long enough to show some sane leadership. 50 girls a year screwed by SDT x X number of years = pretty soon you've developed a group of disappointed girls whose numbers GREATLY EXCEED the number of SDT members in a given year.

I don't think the number of bids accepted is even 10-20 each year...However, I don't think their impact is as widespread as the math claims. There will always be a small portion of "disappointed girls" due to high expectations, bid suicide, etc. Quotas are there for a reason. Even for the bigger chapters mega sized pledge classes are inefficient and requires a great deal of expansion for the UT Greek community.

A sorry excuse for an actual UPC sorority that will be much better off doing things this way. NEW ON GREEKRANK

Sigma Delta Tau - ΣΔΤ Sorority at University of Texas at Austin - UT 3.4 Well. I feel like part of the reason this chapter is so stagnant is the fact that the national org as a whole is not that strong. Additionally, SDT's lack of a house, especially at a school like this, is always going to hurt the number of prospies that could be interested.

Sigma Delta Tau - ΣΔΤ Sorority at University of Texas at Austin - UT 4.6 Representing a proud legacy of women. As the only SDT chapter in Texas they get a lot of hate from other Greek organizations, but great change is always accompanied by negativity! What those other girls don't understand is that Texas is not the whole world and every chapter starts somewhere. SDT is nationally LOVED!! Hope to see more Texan SDT chapters grow!

Representing a proud legacy of women. As the only SDT chapter in Texas they get a lot of hate from other Greek organizations, but great change is always accompanied by negativity!
