Westminster College Fulton Missouri - WCMO Overview

  About Greek Life at WCMO

Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri is a small liberal arts school — we're talking a few hundred students total — and the Greek system reflects that intimate scale. The IFC and Panhellenic councils both operate on campus, with a handful of fraternities and a few sororities making up the full picture. There's no NPHC or MGC presence to speak of here.

Because the school is so small, Greek life ends up being a pretty significant part of the social fabric. The chapters aren't massive, but the organizations that are here tend to be active. IFC includes some well-known national names — Beta Theta Pi, Delta Tau Delta, Kappa Alpha Order, Phi Delta Theta, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, and Sigma Chi all have a presence. On the Panhellenic side, you've got Alpha Gamma Delta, Kappa Alpha Theta, and Kappa Kappa Gamma.

Recruitment at a school this size tends to be more personal than what you'd see at a large state university. Rush isn't a massive, stadium-style production — it's smaller, and you're likely to actually get to know people in the chapters you're visiting. That's just the nature of a tight-knit campus like Westminster.

Fulton is a small town in central Missouri, so the social calendar on campus matters a lot. Fraternities typically have chapter houses, which serve as a social hub in ways that feel more pronounced here than they might at a school with a bigger surrounding city. Philanthropy events and formals are part of the standard Greek calendar, consistent with what you'd expect from chapters affiliated with these national organizations.

Westminster is probably best known outside of Missouri for Churchill's famous "Iron Curtain" speech, which was delivered on campus in 1946 — and that sense of institutional history carries through to campus culture generally. Greek life here fits into a community where everybody tends to know everybody, and chapter involvement often extends well beyond just social events into leadership and campus organizations.
