Top Sorority as a Soph
by: sratsophhi! i’m an incoming sophomore and i am planning to rush (probably formal recruitment, not cob) this year. i was wondering, do top srats even consider sophs? there’s one house i’ve had my eye on (although i am keeping an open mind for others) and i am wondering if i even have a chance. what can i do to show interest in the house? any rush tips in general for a soph who didn’t rush freshman year? thank you! :)

honestly, as someone in a top sorority, your chances are extremely low. there is typically one sophomore MAX in a new pc, and the exception is usually only made if they are someone in the sororities sister or if they are friends with a tonnnn of girls in the pc above. it sucks that’s the way it is tbh

you could always lie. Unless you have made it explicit that you are a sophomore to many of the girls in that srat, or via social media, then you could just lie and say you are a freshman--I know a girl that did that, and she just said that she's "graduating a year early." when she got into the sorority and really started getting to know the girls.

rush advice:
honestly just be urself and i know that sounds super cliche but as someone in a top sorority, we genuinely look for funny people who give off good energy. nobody wants to be in a sorority with boring girls so just have fun with rush!!
and definetly don’t be embarrassed or ashamed when houses drop u.. everyone gets dropped by houses so it’s rly nothing personal
