UMD Getting Rid of 1st Semester Pledge Restrictions

We heard that the school is getting rid of the rule that requires freshman to have 12 credits before pledging. That is awesome. Did anyone else here that?

Maryland is a competitive enough school that most freshmen have at least 12 AP credits anyway.
