Well yes their HQ is involved. Girls were injured at a party that they attended and they take this sort of thing very seriously because they have strict insurance policies, as do fraternities. I would expect PKA HQ to yank their charter at Western. As for what happens to AGD, I don't think they will lose their charter because the accident was caused mainly by the actions (maybe criminal) of one moron, if the details circulating are generally correct (he threw rubbing alcohol on open flames). Merely attending a party where there would be a candle flame doesn't mean PKA or AGD did anything wrong (unless their insurance policies say otherwise), so all this talk about execs being reckless and responsible for what happened is out of line. Nobody could have foreseen an idiot throwing a bottle of rubbing alcohol onto open flames. But all of this should become more clear when the facts come out.
For now, pray that the injured recover fully, though the girl at the McMaster burn unit may have a long and very painful road ahead. Does anyone have an update on how the injured are doing?
So yeah, retaining legal counsel is good idea. I'm sure the HQs for AGD and PKA are telling the chapters what to do.

You have that wrong - no EP here and no damage control.
Like I said, it will all become clear when the facts are laid bare. Posting on here is literally useless in terms of damage control or pr or anything else.
Damage control is cooperating with HQ and lawyering up.

Risk management means anticipating the worst case scenario and raising concerns before it happens. open flames of any sort at a party with drunk people and flammable decorations is an obvious liability and should have been called out so that drunk idiots can’t throw liquids at it in the first place

you have to admit there was recklessness involved. someone who was a part if it literally admitted on here yesterday that there have been flames at these events in the past and absolutely no one raised a red flag that that was a horrible idea. in fact, exec was filming it. so both chapters are to blame to an extent.
