Windsor is a mid-size commuter-heavy university in southwestern Ontario, right on the border with Detroit, and its Greek system reflects that character β smaller and more close-knit than what you'd find at a big residential campus like Western or Queen's. There are a handful of fraternities and sororities operating here, so this is definitely a more intimate corner of campus life rather than a defining feature of the undergraduate experience.
On the fraternity side, you've got Delta Chi, Pi Lambda Phi, and Sigma Chi β all IFC-affiliated organizations with national histories. The sororities are Delta Alpha Theta and Delta Zeta, with Panhellenic representation on campus. It's a small but established set of chapters that have maintained a presence at Windsor over the years.
Because Windsor doesn't have the traditional big residential campus setup that drives Greek life at some other Ontario schools, the chapters here tend to operate without dedicated chapter houses. Social life is more spread out across the city, and the border proximity to Detroit adds a different energy to the weekend scene that's pretty specific to this school.
Recruitment is generally more low-key and accessible here than at larger schools. With fewer chapters competing for members, the process tends to feel less intense, and you get more direct face time with the people actually in the organizations. Philanthropy and community events do happen throughout the year, and chapters stay active through mixers, fundraisers, and campus involvement.
Greek life here occupies a niche role on campus β it's meaningful to the people in it, but it doesn't dominate Windsor's overall social culture the way it might at a bigger school with a strong Greek Row tradition.
